Abstract

This will be the first meeting of the RDF/OWL Best Practices Task Group. The goals of this group include:

i. to develop use-cases and competency questions that include tests of data discovery, exchange and semantic reasoning;

ii. to experiment with a variety of approaches to addressing those use cases;

iii. to create a Best Practices document providing well-documented example of using rdf and sparql to address a wide range of biodiversity informatics use cases.All are invited to participate both in the group, and in this inaugural meeting. The cost of entry is that you must present *something*, e.g. a use case, an example, a question, a proposed solution, or a stumbling block (encountered or anticipated).In follow up to iEvoBio 2011 (http://piratepad.net/iEvoBio11-BoF-reportouts), contributions will be written up for inclusion in the repository being created for DwC, GSC, and collections use cases, and will help to define the scope of a workshop to be held in early 2012.
