We describe a minimalistic auto-generated implementation of the Audubon Core (AC) Term list (http://terms.tdwg.org/wiki/Audubon_Core_Term_List) using the Resource Description Framework (RDF.) AC is a TDWG-adopted data model for providing metadata for biodiversity multi-media resources. A non-normative description http://terms.tdwg.org/wiki/Audubon_Core serves as an introduction to AC and its scope, which includes metadata describing media content as well as management and acquisition.

The RDF illustrated at http://terms.tdwg.org/wiki/Audubon_Core_Term_List_RDF_Version (AC-RDF) is an ontology on the Web Ontology Language (OWL2). Some familiarity with RDF is assumed but the instance example at the foot of AC-RDF, due to Patrick Sweeney, may be easier to read than the ontology itself. The presentation will begin with a brief explanation the N3 notation of RDF and its application to the example. While the ontology is not presently under submission for adoption, the talk will focus on what issues should be addressed in the context of several use cases for RDF representations of AC.
