Abstract
The central mission of the newly established German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) (www.idiv.de) is to conduct theory-driven synthesis and data-driven theory in biodiversity science. For both approaches, biodiversity data management is a key component which should be integrated as part of the routine research activities.Related to our ongoing data management training program we would like to present activities that are conducted for iDiv researchers to acquire biodiversity data management skills. For example, revision of the biodiversity informatics curriculum for yDiv doctoral students and data management training workshops for data stewards and iDiv researchers. Further, we would present the lessons learned and challenges we experienced while training iDiv researchers.
