Abstract
The Genomic Biodiversity Interest Group (GBWG) is a forum for discussion of standards crossing the biodiversity and genomics fields of study, with core emphasis on mobilizing usable products and technologies for applied research projects. Discussion topics for this meeting are: (1) A review of the activities from the last year with regards on the Biological Collections Ontology (BCO) and a proposal to create a BCO task group; (2) An update and review of the MIxS (Minimum Information about any (X) Sequence) as RDF (Resource Description Framework) effort, and, (3) Global Genome Biodiversity Network (GGBN) updates/discussion (if Barker/Droege are present) (4) Discussion of funded and proposed grants (roundtable): e.g. Database of the IndoPacific Population Genetic database, ABI (Advances in Biological Informatics) Trait database, Others?
